The Strand Star 2009
The Strand Star competition was held November 8, 2009. This event was a huge success, thanks to all those who came out to support our competitors and thanks to a group of very dedicated people. We'd like to take this opportunity to publicly recognize those who have dedicated their time and talents to making the Big Shot Series and the Strand Star event a success. First, thank you to all of our paricipants, without whom there would be no competition. Second, thank you to Josh & Laurie Landers, who donated numerous hours setting up and running the sound system. Third, thank you to Ms. Sherry Curfman, who was faithful in helping count votes. Finally, to Mr. Rod Harris, the producer who donated the Grand Prize for the Strand Star.
We'd also like to offer congratulations to Ms. Aaliyah Carroll, our runner up in the competition. And a big congratulations goes out to Ms. Kassidy Wilkinson, our first Strand Star. Kassidy is the recipient of the title Strand Star and the Grand Prize, ten free studio recording hours.
We hope you all will join us next year during the Big Shot series, as we give our local talent an opportunity to display just how amazing they truly are!
