Strand Star 2009
The Strand Star 2009 was held November 8, and was a huge success, thanks to a special group of people, as well as all of the wonderful fans who came out to support the participants. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the participants, without whom there would have been no event; the Emporium staff, who organized the event; Josh Landers and Laurie Landers, who spent numerous hours working on the sound for the event; Ms. Sherry Curfman and Sue Sharp- who were faithful to help count votes; and finally Mr. Rod Harris, who donated the Grand Prize of 10 free studio recording hours.
Competing for the Strand Star title were two lovely young ladies, Aaliyah Carroll and Kassidy Wilkinson. These two ladies had each won first place in one of the 2009 Big Shot Series held at the Emporium.
Also participating in the Strand Star event this year were our runners up, Cindy Ayers and the Josh Barnett Experience. While neither were eligible to receive the grand prize, they delighted fans with their performances.
Ms. Kassidy Wilkinson was the recipient of the title Strand Star for the year 2009. Kassidy also received the Grand Prize of 10 free studio recording hours, donated by producer Rod Harris.
